The Power Of Housing
June 19, 2018Make selling your property even easier with these things.
Selling Property doesn't have to be hard.
But many people make it harder than it needs to be by not taking easy, practical steps to improve the property for sale.
Meaning their properties take longer to sell, and ultimately for less.
But if you're reading this blog then you're smarter than that, and in this post we'll give you some steps you can take to improve your property before selling it.
Externals Count
The first thing that potential buyers are going to see is the exterior of your property.
And if anything is lacking that is going the first thing they notice.
So ensuring that the outside of your property is up to scratch is important.
Fresh paint, minor and major repairs, new doors and windows, landscaping and lighting should be your priorities when improving your externals. You should also consult with your agent about what modifications to make, ensuring your keep the property in the style of the local area.
You want to stand out, but for the right reasons.
Inside Too
While making the outside appealing is important, you don't want your home's beauty to be paint deep.
So aside from the major rebuilds what should you be looking out for?
Here's a few:
- Flooring
- Paint or Wallpaper
- Interior Doors and Windows
- Lighting Fixtures
- Small Repairs
You should be looking at all these things and seeing if you can improve or refresh them some way. If you've got worn or old carpet replace it. Floorboards can be redone. Faded paint will darken your home. Wallpaper can be repaired or replaced. Interior Doors should be refreshed, and windows cleaned. Fixtures can be cleaned out.
And then you should be fixing up all those things that weren't a big enough problem.
Buyers are going to be looking at everything, and yours won't be the only home they are looking at.
So you need to make every effort to beat out the competition, and catch the eye of buyers.
This Is A Love Story
Selling a property isn't just about location, you've got to make the buyer fall in love with the property. They should be able to imagine themselves living there.
Small details that aren't taken care of will make it hard for that to happen.
So taking care of these things will pay off in the end.
